Our Story: Baltic Club, Lifestyle Design Studio based in Montreal
Baltic Club was born from the desire to build a company centered on the creativity of its two co-founders, Mélanie and Brice.
We craft original and inspiring goods, from illustrated stationery and wall decor to home fragrances (candles, incense, reed diffusers, room sprays ), designed to bring joy and beauty into your home.
Our mission is to spark positive emotions and wonder through simple, intentional design.
The story of The Baltic Club began in 2014 when two creative minds, Mélanie Ouellette and Brice Salmon, joined forces to transform their shared passion for design, art, and lifestyle goods into a Montreal-based creative manufacture.
The Craftsmanship
We are more than just a brand; we are makers. In our studio in Quebec, every candle is hand-poured, and every notebook is designed to last. We blend modern design with artisanal methods to ensure premium quality.
Mélanie Ouellette
Co-founder & Creative DirectorMélanie brings over 15 years of expertise in graphic design and art direction. As the sole illustrator and designer for all our collections, she has developed a distinct, playful, and unique aesthetic.
Her deep love for nature profoundly influences every creation, infusing each art print, notebook, and greeting card with organic elements that invite poetry into everyday life.
Brice Salmon
Co-founder & CEODriven by strategy and innovation, Brice brings a unique perspective shaped by his background in economics and cinema. He is dedicated to sharing our unique designs with an international audience.
He oversees the development of our fragrance lines, ensuring our handcrafted soy candles and incense meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
The name "Baltic Club" is a tribute to Baltique, François Mitterand's beautiful Black Labrador. Animals, the beauty of nature and its wonders will always be at the center of our inspirations.
Our Journey
The Beginning
Mélanie & Brice founded Baltic Club in a small Montreal apartment, driven by a love for stationery and original illustrations.
Our First Studio
We opened our manufacturing workshop in the Mile-End, Montreal, starting our own local production of candles and paper goods.
Montreal Expansion
Our collections reached Maison Simons and we opened our second boutique on Mont-Royal Avenue in Montreal.
The American Market
Baltic Club crosses borders with the opening of major accounts in the USA: Barnes & Noble, Nordstrom, Anthropologie, and Macy’s.
B2B Expertise
We expanded our capacity to offer bespoke manufacturing services for industry leaders like Desjardins and Shopify.
Acquisition & Baltic Brands
Acquisition of the premium fragrance brand Apprenti and creation of Baltic Brands, our parent company overseeing our premium lines.
