Product Care & Safety Guide

Expert tips to maximize the performance, fragrance throw, and longevity of your Baltic Club candles and reed diffusers. Proper care can extend the life of your candle by up to 30%.

Candle Care & Maintenance

High-quality soy wax requires specific care to burn cleanly and evenly.

The First Burn (Crucial)

The first time you light your candle, let the wax pool reach the edges of the glass (about 2 hours). This sets the "wax memory" and prevents tunneling for all future burns.

Trim the Wick to 1/4"

Always trim your wick to 6mm (1/4") before every lighting. A long or "mushroomed" wick causes soot, excessive smoke, and a flame that is too high.

Optimal Burn Time

Do not burn for more than 4 hours. This prevents the glass from overheating and preserves the delicate fragrance oils.

Jar Upcycling

When 1/2" of wax remains, it's time to stop. Clean the jar with warm soapy water and reuse it as a planter, pencil holder, or spice jar.

Reed Diffuser Care

Maximize your flame-free fragrance experience with these placement and maintenance tips.

How to Set Up Your Diffuser

  1. Place on a stable surface (use a coaster to protect furniture).
  2. Insert reeds and let them soak for 60 minutes.
  3. Flip the sticks to fully activate the fragrance.

Scent Intensity Control

  • For a stronger scent: Flip the reeds every few days.
  • For a subtle scent: Use fewer reeds (e.g., 4-5 instead of 8).
  • Maintenance: Replace reeds every 2-3 months as they become clogged with dust and oil.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Why is my candle tunneling?

  • The first burn was too short. You can try to "fix" it by burning it long enough next time or using the "foil method" to melt the outer ring.
  • Avoid placing candles near open windows or fans.

Why is there black soot on the glass?

  • The wick is too long. Trim it to 1/4".
  • The candle has been burning for more than 4 hours.

Why can't I smell my diffuser anymore?

  • You may have "nose blindness" (olfactory fatigue). Move the diffuser to a different room.
  • The reeds are saturated. Try flipping them or replacing them with fresh ones.

Safety First

Candle Safety

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep away from flammable objects, children, and pets.
  • Never move a candle when the wax is liquid.

Diffuser Safety

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets (oil is not for consumption).
  • Avoid oil contact with skin and eyes.
  • Keep away from open flames.
